"HOW CAN A HOUSE PROVIDE SHELTER, PRIVACY AND AT THE SAME TIME A VIEW?"

Snake House is located in Albany, New Providence; an island in the Bahamas. The project site, on the western border of a golf course, presented two contrasting conditions. The proximity to the activity on the golf course creates a need for privacy and protection, at the same time it offers beautiful views that can be enjoyed from the house and the garden. With the eastern wing being raised off the ground the house forms a helix, accomodating both requirements by offering benefits of a protected courtyard home as well as opening up the courtyard to the golf course views.
The character of the golf course landscape extends underneath the house into the courtyard. On the southeast corner of the lot, the east wing rests on a artificial mound that mimics and creates a dialogue with the golfcourse.
"HOW CAN ADDED VALUE BE CREATED TO AN ALREADY EXCLUSIVE BEACH FRONT LOT?"
Bungalow Six is located on a beach front lot on a the island of New Providence, Bahamas. The property has amazing south facing views over the Caribbean ocean which became the starting point for the concept.
The house consists of two separate volumes. In order to create added value to the property, the main house volume is set back from the beach, which allows for a larger part of the lot to be exposed to the beach front. The second volume placed on the north end of the lot defines the entrance to the property from the main road.
